چکیده

Objective: Experimental animal liver transplantation is the initial step, before application of procedure on humans. Canine and swine were used to perfect technical aspects procedure. Small animals such as rats mainly utilized study metabolic immunological transplantation. In this paper, we describe our experience with attempting in a sheep model. Material method: The model for both donor recipient was outbred male weanling Naimi strain (Ovis aries, Awassi). They weigh between 25 35 kg. put under general anesthesia. Harvested livers kept cold storage. Recipients underwent hepatectomy, after construction an active portal systemic bypass using Medtronic pump. implantation done caval replacement direct anastomosis. hepatic artery its attachments aortal anastomosed directly aorta. Result: Twelve pairs (24 sheep) surgery. Donor surgery completed successfully all 12 cases. Recipient not three cases, when lost phase, reperfusion due uncontrolled bleeding, resulting hemodynamic instability. We also five recipients immediately reperfusion, post-perfusion bleeding Four stayed alive implantation. Conclusion: demonstrated feasibility described similarities that humans, well difficulties. This suitable situations where other well-established models are available cultural or religious reasons. Further refinement will be needed, investigation biochemical outcome long-term survival.

Model for End-Stage Liver Disease, Model for Liver Transplantation Survival and Donor Risk Index as predictive models of survival after liver transplantation in 1,006 patients

OBJECTIVES Liver transplantation has not increased with the number of patients requiring this treatment, increasing deaths among those on the waiting list. Models predicting post-transplantation survival, including the Model for Liver Transplantation Survival and the Donor Risk Index, have been created. Our aim was to compare the performance of the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease, the Model f...
